Domestic mailing of a CloverCase mailer never involves customs, but the post offices in
some countries may ask you to complete a
customs form when mailing a CloverCase internationally. Contact your local post office
for more information. These forms are usually attached to the outside of the CloverCase and are
very easy to complete.
If you are required to complete a customs form, you will be asked to
describe and assess the value of the contents. If you are mailing a CD that you made yourself, for example, then you should
describe the contents as a 'homemade CD' - the value would be the cost of the blank CD
(ie. 40 or or 50 cents). With such a low value, the recipient is unlikely to be
required to pay any duties. The U.S. Customs Department's policy,
for example,
states that unsolicited gifts valued at under $100, will pass through customs duty-free; other
countries, however, may impose taxes or duties that must be paid by the recipient at the time of
delivery.
